*** Food allergens may be found in the blood stream in circulating
immune complexes that trigger the release of immune mediators in the
bloodstream. These chemicals cause a variety of symptoms. ***
Asthma
Food allergy is a very
important cause of asthma but is often overlooked. The usual skin tests are often negative and the history is often not
helpful as symptoms appear gradually hours or days after ingestion of
the food.

Allergies:
His allergy test results revealed serious multiple
food allergies.
Treatment/Outcome:
Mom took charge and followed the
recommended rotation diet, eliminating foods which had elevated antibody
levels. Her son is now completely free of asthma medication. She is a
very happy mom.
Hyperactivity
Child AM, 9 years old AM was
previously a problem child at school and was very hyper-active. He was
diagnosed as having ADHD. His family took him to Dr. H. and a food
allergy test was recommended.
Allergies:
His food allergy report
revealed significant food allergies to dairy, egg, gluten, wheat, and
some fruit and vegetable items.
Treatment/Outcome:
Within 2 weeks of following
our recommended rotation diet, his behavior is dramatically improved. He
now engages in constructive and directed play; and pays attention in
school; even his appearance has dramatically changed. Parents are
extremely pleased with these positive results.
Insomnia
The parents of
1 year old Matthias came to KFW Clinic seeking help for their son's
problem of waking up every 2 hours since they came to town a few months
ago. Both parents have to work in the morning and they were exhausted
having to look after him through the night. Physical examination of the
child found him to be perfectly normal and indeed extraordinarily
healthy. There was no indication of any potential allergy problems.
However, since food allergies can still be a potential culprit, the
pediatrician went ahead and recommended food allergy testing to be done.
Allergies:
The allergy results revealed
that the boy was highly allergic to dairy products.
Treatment/Outcome:
Upon withdrawal of dairy products from his diet, the child slept through
the night in less than a week. A few weeks later when the child was
accidentally exposed to dairy products, he again woke up repeatedly in
the night.
Constipation
A 38 year-old
female patient had a serious problem with constipation for several
years.
Allergies:
Upon testing, antibodies to
dairy, egg and baker's yeast were found to be elevated.
Treatment/Outcome:
After one month of using the rotation diet, her bowel functions
normalized and no problems with constipation since.
Eczema
Baby with severe Eczema This
baby developed eczema very soon after birth and this became very severe
when the baby was just a few months old . He was brought to several
doctors and was also treated at the National Skin Center by
dermatologists with no improvement. When I saw the child at the age of 1
year old, he was covered with eczematous lesion from head to toes with
obvious cracks and bleeding from the flexures of both upper and lower
limbs. The child scratches his body throughout the day and night and it
was impossible for the lesions to heal despite all the medications given
to him.
Allergies:
His food allergy profile
demonstrated extreme reaction to most fish but strangely un-reactive to
the traditionally recognized allergic food such as crab, lobster and
shrimp.
Treatment/Outcome:
With this result it was
obvious to the parents why the child could not improve as they were
feeding him fish on a daily basis. Over the next few months the child
registered extremely gratifying improvement with the removal of fish
from his diet.
Chronic Diarrhea
Man with IBS This is a 32
year old man with a long history of explosive diarrhea. He sought help
from many gastroenterologists. Apart from blood studies, he went through
multiple endoscopies and biopsies. The biopsies report invariably came
back as non-specific findings consistent with irritable bowel disease.
The last gastroenterologist he saw suggested that he be tested for food
allergies. Some one he knew suggested that he come to my clinic to have
food allergy testing done.
Allergies:
His allergy results revealed
that he was highly allergic to egg white and gluten.
Treatment/Outcome:
He was not followed up at my
clinic. However, I made the point to contact him for a few months after
the test. He made it known to me that as long as he avoids the reactive
foods, his symptoms improved significantly but they return with a
vengeance if he violates them liberally.
Chronic Cough
Lady with chronic cough of 10
years duration A 48 year old lady with a 10 year history of chronic
cough which has not improved at all despite consultations with many
doctors over the years was referred to my clinic by her brother whose
children were under my care.
Allergies:
The food allergy panel
revealed strong allergies to dairy products, shrimp, corn, barley, oat,
sesame and rice. Among the fruits she reacted strongly to were banana,
grape and pear. She also has moderate reaction to egg white.
Treatment/Outcome:
By following the customized
rotation diet, she improved dramatically, and after one subsequent
follow up at the clinic, she did not feel the need to return to the
clinic anymore as she no longer suffers from the cough which had been
bugging her all this time!
Migraine
headache
Continual
migraine headaches plagued this 55 year-old woman. Headaches had been
the bane of here life for several years and when she was 31 years old,
she had to quit her job because the constant pain and 'sickish' feeling
made her incapable of working a full day. At 50 years old she was
feeling suicidal and was diagnosed by a psychologist as being
melancholic.
Allergies:
Her allergy test revealed
elevated antibody values to dairy, gluten, honey and coffee.
Treatment/Outcome:
She was advised to avoid the allergic foods and was given EFA
supplements along with GI ReNu and a hypoallergenic protein powder.
After one month she ceased to have migraines and has not had one since.
Her psychologist has reported that her mental condition is much better.
Chronic Blocked Nose
Child with constant blocked
nose and fatigue The mother of this 6 year old girl was concerned that
her child had constant blocked nose, frequent yawning and noticed that
she was frequently tired most of the time. She is a piano teacher and
observed that the 7 years old girl whom she is coaching is rather
healthy in comparison to her daughter. From the mother of her student,
she became aware of food allergy testing.
Allergies:
Report from subsequent
testing revealed that her daughter had strong allergies to dairy
products, eggs, cucumber and mushroom.
Treatment/Outcome:
Elimination of these foods
from her diet resulted in major improvement in a matter of weeks.
Chronic Infections
Child with frequent episodes
of illnesses This child developed normally for the first 2 years and
then started having frequent episodes of various illnesses including
viral fever, gastroenteritis,conjunctivitis, rhinitis, recurrent attacks
of bronchitis, urticaria and constipation.
Allergies:
Food allergy testing
demonstrated the presence of severe allergies to dairy products and
eggs.
Treatment/Outcome:
Following the removal of
these offending foods from his diet, the child has no need to return to
my clinic where before, he would present himself every few weeks without
fail.
Serious Otitis Media
An 8 year-old boy had, over
the past several years, several bouts of serious otitis media.
Inflammation and fluid accumulation behind his eardrums was of such
chronic nature that he needed to be intubated at least twice a year. He
remained feverish with a temperature of 102.
Allergies:
Allergy testing showed
elevated antibodies to dairy, eggs, sesame, sunflower seeds, blueberry,
strawberry, cranberry and others.
Treatment/Outcome:
Avoid the allergic foods and supplement with EFAs and GI ReNu. There was
no overt change noted during the first month, though his fever was
slightly reduced to about 100.4. After staying on the diet and
supplements for 3 months, his doctor did not find any abnormal fluids in
his ear. After 6 months, he had not suffered from another otitis media
flare up and has not since. He also sprouted almost 4 inches within one
year of testing.
Multiple chronic complaints.
Four major
complaints comprised the lot suffered by one 33 year-old female.
Fatigue, dark circles under her eyes, edema and, although she had wanted
to, she had not been able to get pregnant in her four years of marriage.
Allergies:
Her test report showed she
had significant elevations of antibodies to dairy, egg, corn, pineapple,
banana and others.
Treatment/Outcome:
She was advised to avoid the allergic foods and supplement with EFAs.
Because of the seriousness of her complaints and the extent of her
allergic foods, she was also placed on the intestinal rebuilding
supplement GI ReNu and a hypoallergenic protein supplement. The dark
circles under her eyes, the edema and fatigue were all dramatically
improved after 2 months. She also became pregnant after 5 months.
Dermatitis
A serious case
of dermatitis, mainly on her arms, had tormented a 14 year-old girl for
many years. She also complained of 'heavy' headaches and a state of near
constant fatigue.
Allergies: Dairy, cucumber and
strawberry were all associated with elevated antibodies.
Treatment/Outcome:
Avoid the allergic foods and supplement with EFAs. After two months, her
headaches were completely eliminated and did not recur. She began to
once again feel strong and able. After 4 months, the skin on her arms
became smooth and bright. She remarked that she had never owned such
beautiful skin before!
Autism
This 10
year-old boy with autism also had a positive stool culture for Candida.
Allergies:
Upon testing, antibodies to
dairy, egg and gluten were all found to be quite elevated.
Treatment/Outcome:
Avoid the allergic foods and supplement with EFAs and GI ReNu. After two
months, there was a great improvement in this boy's mental condition.
Intestinal Distress
40 year-old
female with a 9-month history of intestinal distress involving diarrhea,
nausea, gas, fatigue, backaches, insomnia and periodically numb fingers.
A full G.I. investigation was negative. She stated that her stools were
like "mud." Moreover, she had a dairy intolerance.
Allergies:
Allergy testing revealed high antibodies to almonds. The patient
revealed that almonds were her favorite snack!
Treatment/Outcome:
The elimination of almonds resulted in the quick resolution of all
symptoms.
