Sleep Balance
Find out if it is hormone related

What is Circadian Driven Hormones?
There is a Circadian Rhythm in our body which regulates the cycle of alertness and sleepiness. When you are asleep, your melatonin level will increase while your cortisol level will drop. As we wake up, your melatonin level will drop to the lowest level while your cortisol will increase to the highest level. If this cycle is affected your sleep quality might also be affected.
Creatinine
It is a chemical compound left over from the energy-producing process in your muscle. It can affect us to sleep less.
Cortisone
It is converted by cortisol.
Cortisol
It should be opposite relationship with melatonin. When melatonin is high, cortisol should be low. When one of them is not balance it can affect our sleep pattern.
Melatonin
Produced by the pineal gland. It is triggered by darkness and signal our body to sleep.
HK BioTek Technology Competence
-
Sample will be sent to ZRT Laboratory in the United States for analysis, which is the only specialty hormone laboratory to have qualified for the CDC's Hormone Standardization Program (HoSt).
-
All hormone test are analyzed with reference ranges for individual patient ages, menstrual status, and hormone supplementation
-
ZRT is the only laboratory to perform an extraction process for saliva testing, which separates hormones from background contamination. This ensures accurate test results for low-concentration hormones.
Testing Items
Dried urine samples are used for a comprehensive assessment to unlock the relationship between sleeping issue and hormones.

Frequently-Asked Questions
1. How can this test help me?
Sleep balance profile that measures levels of creatinine, cortisone, cortisol, and melatonin can provide valuable insights into your body's biochemical functions related to sleep and stress
2. Why do we need to test both cortisol and cortisone?
It gives a better picture of total cortisol production by adrenal. Both cortisol and cortisone are part of the diurnal curves that help to regulate the sleep pattern, measuring both hormones gives a betterpicture of our sleep-wake cycle.
3. When should I collect the sample?
Everyone can collect sample at any day of the month, but please avoid collecting when blood can be in your urine. One should avoid collecting samples during the urinary tract infection, and menstruating women should not collect during your period. Test on a typical, healthy day. You will need to collect 4 urine card samples in a day; please follow the collection timing listed in the instruction sheet.
