Allergic Cross Reactivity
Information is provided by US BioTek - Demystifying Allergic Cross-Reactivity
Cross-reactivity Cross-reactivity occurs when antibodies in the body are able to recognize and bind to similar or homologous allergens from different species that share virtually the same epitope. Epitopes are the binding sites on antigens that differ primarily in the identity of their primary sequences and often in their 3D structure.
